Il tecnico di maggior successo nella storia dell’Everton, Howard Kendall, che guidò la squadra a due titoli nazionali nel 1984/1985 e nel 1986/1987, è morto oggi all’età di sessantanove anni (era infatti nato il 22 maggio 1946). “E’ con grande tristezza che l’Everton ha appreso della scomparsa di Howard Kendall”, si legge in un comunicato ufficiale dei ‘Toffees’. Sotto la sua guida, l’Everton si aggiudicò anche una Coppa delle Coppe nel 1984/1985, una Coppa d’Inghilterra nel 1983/1984 e tre Community Shield dal 1984 al 1986. Kendall militò nella squadra di Liverpool anche da giocatore vincendo il campionato 1969/1970 e la Community Shield del 1970.

Il Manchester City si appresta a cambiare lo storico marchio e per disegnare quello nuovo chiederà aiuto ai tifosi. Lo scrive il tabloid inglese Daily Mail, secondo cui il club inglese chiederà ai propri supporters tramite un sondaggio, quali siano i simboli che catturano meglio la cultura del City e della città. L'attuale stemma della squadra capolista della Premier è presente sulle maglie dal 1997, anche se i tifosi sono divisi su quale dei simboli usati dal 1930 rappresenti al meglio il club. Ai tifosi verrà chiesto di riempire un questionario allo stadio in occasione della gara odierna contro il Bournemouth. Ci sarà anche un ufficio aperto, sempre nei pressi dello stadio. Le proposte i tifosi potranno farle anche attraverso il sito ufficiale del club, in un'apposita sezione, fino al prossimo 14 novembre.
